Should we weigh ourselves daily?
The answer is a definite no. I suggest weighing yourself at most once a week. Your weight on the scale is just a number and there are so many factors that cause fluctuations in our daily weight beyond our control such as constipation, hormonal changes, water retention etc. I highly encourage you to instead look at your non scale victories like fit of your clothes and how you feel.
Even a 5-10% weight loss on average can bring about the following changes:
-decrease in BP
-increase in HDL (good cholesterol) that has cardio protective effects
-decrease in triglycerides and LDL (increased levels increase risk of heart disease)
So keep at it and do not be discouraged if the scale does not move because remember it is just a number. By committing to yourself and making healthy lifestyle choices daily, you are decreasing your risk of early death.
